Sharing and caring deeply for each other, a number of Electrical Engineering Students from Nusa Putra Sukabumi University held a Sahur On The Road (SOTR) event, Saturday (23/4/2022).
From 01.00 WIB in the morning until finished, the students carried out their activities. 200 packages of rice and side dishes were distributed to residents along Jalan Cibolang Cisaat to Sukabumi City, where the recipients were predominantly homeless people and motorcycle taxi drivers.
“It was distributed by 35 students from the Electrical Engineering Association of Nusa Putra University. This is the second year of the event. The food distributed was 200 packages cooked by the students themselves. Funds were obtained from alumni and donors as well as the students themselves,” said the Lecturer at Nusa University’s Electrical Engineering Study Program. Putra, Marina Artiyasa, who is also the organizer of this event, told sukabumiupdate.com.
According to Marina, the Supervisor of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, Mochtar Setyo, really supports the social activities carried out by these students and directs them to always bring the good name of the Nusa Putra University campus.
“On the previous day, there was also an iftar with Electrical Technology Students and lecturers in the secret room of the Nusa Putra University Campus,” said Marina.
Marina hopes that this event will continue to run in the coming year, and can hone the sensitivity of students so they are willing to share with those in need.
“Pak Aryo de Wibowo as Head of the Study Program is also very supportive and also gives a thumbs up because children have the sensitivity to want to share with the surrounding community, especially those closest to them,” he said.
Separately, Septiya Hanum as Chair of the Committee felt proud and grateful to all parties who had helped to make this event possible.
“And hopefully the future will be even better. Then Elektro will always be united and known in society. One component, one change,” he said.
